Pat
Foley
Pat
Foley has been singing in the Quad City area for nearly thirty years. Starting
in high school, he sang with Spirit Inc throughout the Midwestern U.S.
and Canada.
In
the mid 1980's, he was a co-founder of the well-known band Keep Off The
Grass. Pat was the lead singer and played rhythm guitar for the band
throughout its entirety. The band was very successful locally and throughout the
Midwest region, winning many local awards, including having won multiple awards
for Best Band of the area. Keep Off the Grass also played at Wrigley Field
in Chicago prior to a Cubs game. Mr. Foley has been in different musical groups
since that time in the Quad City area and has also played solo at area clubs and
festivals.
Pat’s
favorite chord is a D chord, the one when you play a G note with your
pinky.
As
a child, Matt Cannon had perfect teeth. Naturally, adulthood offered him the
choice of careers between dentistry and being a celebrity. Inspired by the
Dustin Hoffman film, “Marathon Man,” Matt opted for dental school. He was
elected the vice president of the American Student Dental Association on his
controversial “flossing, what is it good for?” platform. Upon graduation, Matt
married a cheerleader (because he could,) had some kids, and took stock of his
quick success. Already growing bored with oral surgery, but comfortable with
pain, Matt decided to start a second career as a rock singer, ‘because the
primal screaming in rock music is very therapeutic, and good for my practice.’ A
former member of Keep Off the Grass, Matt continues to pursue his
musical aspirations in the current lineup of the band. He swears that ‘if we hit
it big, everyone in the band receives an absolutely free on-surface composite
restoration on the bicuspid of your choice.’ Fat chance.
Timm
Dalman
The
newest member of the group, who also goes by the name “Little Snot-nosed Timmy,”
toured the US and Canada for 5 years before settling in the Quad Cities region,
where he recorded 5 albums in the comedy duo The Pat Dermody Band. His next
group, The Jennifer Sergeant Band played the four state area, appearing in
auditoriums, on television, featured in two shows at The Mark of the Quad Cities
arena. Serving charities and church sector, they quickly become one of the
premiere Christian music groups in the region. Timm also founded New Anthem, a
company that produces and promotes concerts as well as manages and books bands
in the Christian market.
Timm’s
favorite chord is C9.
Steve
has been rocking since spandex was cool. While the drinking age was 18, Steve’s
first band had to sneak him into shows because of his age. It didn’t take long for him to find
passion in seeing people smile, dance and just get plain
crazy.
Steve’s musical career has taken him in a lot of different directions, from rock, hard rock, dance, Blues, country and even a little punk thrown into the mix. While keeping his roots tied mostly to the Quad Cities, he’s traveled the road in search of more smiles.
“ What a long strange trip it’s been”.
